1st edition AD&D encounter tables for use with Table Smith.

Included are tables for all surface terrains, including fresh and saltwater areas. Also included are encounter tabels for your generic type dungeon (ala Gary Gygax style AD&D).
The encounters generated pretty much follow standard AD&D (1st and 2nd edition) encounter frequency, but with a bit of common sense thrown in to give it spice... Also, they follow the Frequency & Chance of Wilderness Encounters found on page 101 of the older 2nd edition Dungeon Masters Guide (I don't know what page it's on in the new DMG, since I don't own it, check somewhere in the Encounters chapter). This way, a single roll generates a whole day's encounters as well as the time they occur.

Here's and example of a day's encounters in a Temperate Wilderness Forest:

		7-10AM: Giant: Hill
		11AM-2PM: No Encounter
		3-6PM: Bear: Black
		7-10PM: No Encounter
		11PM-2AM: Orc
		3-6AM: No Encounter

A busy day... Note that the tables don't take into account a creatures activity cycle or power level in relation to anyone, nor does it generate the number of creatures encountered, so you'll have to exercise some common sense, GM perrogative and your dice rolling hand. I plan on adding all these features at some point.
The encounters are, however, highlighted by underlineing, so they're plenty easy to pick out when exported to html.

Send any bug reports, praise or flames to: craigjwjr@earthlink.net

	Enjoy!
