Class Description
From the first days man walked the oerth and learned to interact with the other races there have been those among his number with an extreme fascination with death. This obsession, coupled with the magical nature of the world is what gave birth to this order. The death master is the ultimate student of death and the negative plane. Most death masters consider their powers a dark gift that should be released upon the land, whether anyone else wants them to or not.

Special: Dissect one fresh corpse of your own race that you personally created. The aspirant death master must make a journal listing all major organs and their connections by studying and removing them. This must be done to a member of a different race every time a level is advanced within two months of gaining that level or it is lost permanently (this is done by the death master to make certain that his theories on death and living interaction are accurate. If it isn't done, he loses confidence in his gained knowledge.)

Class Features
Hit Dice: d4 per level
Weapons and Armour: The death master is trained in the use Daggers, Scythes, Scimitars, Sickles, Slings, and Staves; all other weapons are forbidden to them. They have no knowledge in any armors or shields.
Necromantic Spells: When casting necromantic spells that are either arcane or divine in nature, the death master uses his level for both classes in calculating effective caster level. This also applies to the special "Death Touch" power granted by the Death Domain.

Summon Familiar: The types of familiars allowed to the death master are rats, ravens, scorpions, spiders, toads, and weasels.
Aura of Death: Any undead wanting to attack a death master must make a Will check (DC 15), or it will be unable to harm him in any way. "Aura of Death" works on all undead regardless of type, with the exception of liches who were first death masters (they alone are immune to the aura). This power is negated if the death master attacks the undead creature.
Legion: Death masters are deeply linked to their creations to the point that they can control many more undead than another of similar experience. At second level he gains the ability to control up to 3 HD per character level. As the link grows stronger, the number continues to increase by 1 HD every other level until at 10th level he can control 7 HD per character level.
Repel Death's Grasp: If the death master is attacked by any undead who drains attribute points or gives negative levels he is entitled to an immediate Will Save (DC equal to 10 plus half the attacker"s hit dice and charisma modifier) to avoid all affects of the drain.
Desecrated Creation: All undead now created or summoned gain a +2 turn resistance.
Speak with Undead: After reaching fourth level the death master has gained an understanding of negative energy and its interaction with bodies sufficient to allow him to speak to any undead with an intelligence of two or higher.
Strengthen the Animated: All undead created or summoned by the death master gain an additional hit die and a +1 competence bonus to all attack and damage rolls.
Speak with Dead: Once per day the death master can cast the Speak with Dead spell as a supernatural ability. It is usable only on a single body each time it is cast. The number of times per day increases with each additional level gained (8th level = 2 times, 9th level = 3 times, 10th level = 4 times).
Sovereign Motion: The death master has gained such an intuitive understanding of the physical form and the negative energies contained in and around it so well that he is no longer affected by any form of paralysis, hold, or slow spells or spell like abilities. This includes all forms created by undead creatures.
Hardened Beyond Death: All undead that are now created or summoned by the death master now receive maximum hit points per hit die.
Sealed Life: At this level the death master gains total immunity to all forms of attribute and level drain caused by undead.
